Bert Frank unveils new Kernel pendant in XL size
An extension of the Kernel family first launched in 2015, Bert Frank have unveiled the Kernel XL pendant.
Utilising symmetry and modern materials – brass, glass and lacquer – with its clean, simple lines and repeating geometric SHAPES, the design is born from a "form follows function" philosophy with an aesthetic that takes cues from Bauhaus and Modernism. Formed from a rectangular solid metal, matte petrol blue shade and supported by a solid brass drop rod, the design is braced to demand attention with its graphic silhouette. In a contrast to the sharp form of the outer rectangular frame, the design is offset in material and form by six hand-blown opal glass globes encased within a laser cut brass diffuser. Echoing the shape of the encased spheres, the diffuser features fluid and curving cut-work detailing adding an unexpected twist to the design. Casting soft, warm angular ripples of downward light on to surfaces, while also emitting a gentle upward illumination, the Kernel XL is well-placed above a kitchen island or bar.
Showcased in Bert Frank’s London Farringdon showroom, the new Kernel XL is one of the latest Spring additions from the award-winning brand.
